Mirana  This is sweet sweet Mirana.Mirana was an oracle! Mirana was the best boyfriend ever to all the Harmony Corral girls. Right to the end, he was such a strong guy of heart, soul and mind. He was so in tune to everything and everyone at all times! He loved everyone and especially children. He had a blast with the children from the Hudson Dept.of Youth.  Mirana was on the front cover of the Register Star with all the children. When Buck passed away Mirana knew it when none of us at the farm or even the vets suspected that Buck would pass. Mirana stood at the gate ALL day and talked to Buck and never took his eyes off Buck. Buck was in the barn and Mirana was at the field gate approximately 100 feet away. Buck had his dinner and then moments later Mirana yelled goodbye. Mirana had a dad who lives in NYC and Mirana was boarded at the sanctuary for many years. In April 2005, Mirana broke his leg playing with Baby Fury and he did a pretty damaging job to his back leg hock area. There was no hope. We called Europe and all over the country to find some light of hope.  Mirana's damage was too severe and his leg was broken in an impossible healing location. Mirana knew things were bad. Mirana knew he would be saying goodbye. Mirana was 18 yrs old and had so much life and wisdom still beaming out of his eyes.On Saturday, May 14th 2005, a really big part of our sanctuary died. Baby Fury was his very best friend right up to the end and I do know that Mirana lives on in Fury and it will only be a matter of time until all who knew Mirana see his eyes once more through Baby Fury. I know that Mirana was teaching and passing down much of his unique wisdom and character to Baby Fury to carry on in his name and to make Fury a better horse. The beautiful deep soul of Mirana Banana is greatly missed by his dad and all of us here at the farm. But Mirana was put to rest the way ALL horses should be set free! Surrounded by absolute love and peace at a place called Harmony.  WE LOVE YOU MIRANA. |
